Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We only collect information necessary to provide and improve our services, including:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and avatar when you register.
• Profile information: display name, bio, XP progress, and level.
• Content you create: posts, comments, messages, and other content you share.
• Photos you pick in the photo and text-scanning tools: taken from your photo library or camera when you choose them, used only to do what you asked.
• Usage data: the games and tools you use, usage duration, and interactions.
• Device information: device type, operating system, and app version.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Synapp service.
• Personalize your experience, including game and tool recommendations.
• Track your progress, level, and achievements.
• Connect you with friends and other players when you join game rooms.
• Send account- and service-related notifications.
• Improve product quality and develop new features.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information when:

With your consent — for example when you choose to share public content.

With service providers — parties that help us operate the service (such as data hosting), under strict confidentiality obligations.

With third-party AI providers — (a) Object Eraser, Blemish Remover, Remove Background, Expand Image Frame and Text Scanner: only after you tick your agreement in the app, the photo you chose (and the area you painted, if any) is sent through the Synapp server to Google (Gemini), fal.ai or Replicate, or an AI server run by Synapp, to be processed and the result is returned to you; Synapp does not keep this photo after processing. (b) Photos attached to posts, comments and Live chat: a small copy is sent to Google (Gemini) to check for adult content. (c) Words you enter in the Word Chain game that are not yet in our dictionary are sent to Google (Gemini) to check that they are real words. We only use providers committed to protecting data at a level equal to this policy. For the tools in (a), you can withdraw your agreement at any time; features that need AI will then not work.

Face data — Synapp does not collect face data: the app does not use Face ID, the TrueDepth camera or any face recognition or face analysis technology, and it does not create or store face features or templates. A photo you choose may show a face; it is then handled only as an ordinary photo as described above. Photos sent to the AI tools are not kept by Synapp after processing; photos you post (posts, profile picture) are stored until you delete them or your account.

Usage statistics — synapp.vn and the Synapp app (iOS, Android, mobile.synapp.vn) use Google Analytics / Google Analytics for Firebase to measure how the service is used (screens opened, games and tools used, key actions). The data is tied to an internal account ID, never to your email, name or phone number; Synapp shows no ads and does not collect advertising identifiers.

When legally required — when required by law or to protect our and users' legitimate rights.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

5. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no transmission or storage method is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

Depending on the laws where you live, you have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
• Request a copy of your data.
• Object to or restrict data processing.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

7. Account deletion requests

You can ask us to delete your Synapp account and its data at any time, free of charge, in either of two ways:

• In the Synapp app (signed in): tap the menu icon (☰) at the top of the screen → “Cài đặt tài khoản & quyền riêng tư” (account & privacy settings) → “Xóa tài khoản” (delete account), then confirm.
• By email: send an account deletion request to support@synapp.vn from the email address registered to the account (or include the account’s username / phone number). We verify that you own the account before processing it.
• When you confirm in the app, the deletion request is recorded immediately and you are signed out. For email requests, we reply by email once the request has been processed.
• Personal information tied to the account (name, email, phone number, profile picture, profile and game progress) is deleted or anonymised. Some data may be kept where the law requires it, or in anonymised form that no longer identifies you.
• Account deletion cannot be undone.

8. Children's privacy

Synapp is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected a child's information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or via email. Continued use of the service after the policy is updated means you accept the new policy.
